Nope. If they genuinely loved me, the'd love me warts and all. My missus and I share completely different views. Trying to make someone be someone the're not isn't a loving act.

I wouldn't. Because they are something that I truly believe in and I wouldn't change them just to fit in so to speak. I wouldn't expect my partner to do that either.

I don't see how it's even possible to change your views because someone told you, you could pretend you did but if they're genuinely your views, how could you change them?

Exactly. It would be superficial.

I know a married couple who have the same religious views but completely opposite political views. They don't mind it and sort of laugh it off.

I echo what Niamh said, it's not possible. You could pretend but really, could an atheist be happy pretending to be a christian, and vice versa?

Political views I think don't tend to be as problematic because they affect a relationship far less, unless one of you is a politician.

No, I wouldn't pretend to be in any sort of religious or political group I didn't actually believe in.

I always wondered about what was happening at 10 Downing Street when Cherie was taking Tony Blairs legal rulings to court. And she got him to change over to be Catholic.!
