Woman who miscarried after arrest sues police

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman who lost her premature baby a day after she was thrown in jail is suing the police department and two arresting officers who repeatedly ignored her pleas for medical help.

A police videotape released Tuesday shows Sofia Salva telling officers numerous times last Feb. 5 that she was pregnant, bleeding and needed to go to a hospital.

After the ninth request, the tape shows, a female officer asked: “How is that my problem?”

Ok, while the loss of a child's life is always tragic, after actually reading the article it states that she was arrested for putting fake tags on her car and had several outstanding warrants for trespassing, traffic violations and mistreatment of children!
Sure, the cops were wrong for not taking her claims seriously, but at the same time, it was her own actions that put her in that situation in the first place.

sure she was an asshole but buy the time the lawyers are done they'll have her looking like a saint , truth be told they really should have taken her right to the hospital but as we all know some cops are as bad as the people they arrest.

No one denies she had broke the Law.. But they still should have attended to her medical needs,

She tell them she is pregnant and bleeding on her way to the hospital, and they say how is that my problem??

We have much worse criminals who claim they are hurt when they get arrested and they get sent to the hospital first??

They should have at least stopped and listened to her, got her medical attention instead of just ASSuming she was making excuses.. thats where they F*cked up.

you are right and unless their is something more to this she will be very rich and the cops will be poor and out of a job.

Cops have it tough too. You know how much crap they put up with on every single shift? I have the highest respect for anybody that can do that job day in and day out. Especially with hostile media, jury's, lawyers, and street people always looking for a piece.

Ever notice that nobody ever takes the cops side? Everybody hates cops until they need one. Everybody wants to live in a nice safe area, but don't want to respect the people that provide it.

Police are a larger factor in keeping peace and order than any other group of people. More than military, more than politicians, more than you and me put together. Take them off the streets, and the world goes to hell pretty damn fast.

I say thank a cop next time you get a chance.

the problem is, for all the cops and for all the good they do, it only takes a couple stupid ones like this that makes their job that much harder.

haha what are you a cop? And not everyone treats cops like that. Well there is this one officer that I know that is a big asshole....but hey he's my brother-in-law, and I guess family is family

UMM did you guys even WATCH the video? In what way was she an ASSHOLE at all? She was extremely calm and respectful to the cops and they were just downright rude to her. Very condescending attitudes, and she deserves all the money she can get from this case.
