is this a manufacturer-built pc? like hp/compaq, dell, sony, etc?

if so, id contact them first, and make sure you talk to a live person. and one you can understand without difficulty.

time is of the essence. so if they are unable to help you, contact microsoft about it. you can go online to get contact info. they will most likely put you through to an "automated assistant" that doesnt help, and then you will most likely go through the same things you did with the automated assistant with the live person. which may be difficult. i know i was pissed after 2 minutes with the live person, but i didnt yell at him. good thing i didnt. i had like a few hours left before the computer locked up.

sad though, that they thought this windows activation will help stop piracy, because that makes the people who make pirated copies, seem more like a better choice. apparently ms doesnt think things all the way through. or maybe they come up with one solution. idk, im past caring for ms products.

/rant

i wish you good luck in getting your issue resolved.

computers do not come registered. usually the computer will regester itself upon the first time connecting to the internet. you could try doing windows update and that should take care of the problem. i wouldn't worry too much especially if your copy of windows is legit. its just gonna suck if you have to talk to an indian.
