I know of a few instances where someone killed a coyote because they were being a menace. But I don't know of anyone setting out on a coyote hunt.

Around here, they come into feedlots and grab newborn calves and eat them. Farmers lose a lot of calves that way. Cuts into their profits.
The only good coyote is a dead coyote. :cool

Hahahaha, I don't know why. But that image cracks me up.
free-happy-smileys-839.png When I first started here I asked about the llama and I was told he was there to keep the coyotes away. I've never seen a llama chase a coyote but ours won't let the dogs in the pasture and I've never seen a coyote in the vicinity of the llama either so I guess it works. :D

They can become a nuisance. In packs they can be dangerous & destructive. Here I believe it is mostly population control because they are so high in the food chain.

Coyotes make me nervous. Out here you can hear them yip and howl when it's dark. A couple of mornings ago I was scrapping ice off of my car's windshield.... it was still dark out..... and it sounded like a pack of coyotes that were carrying on were way too close for comfort. I never scraped ice so fast. I didn't even bother to clear off the rest of the windows. So..... if someone around these parts wants to hunt coyote, I have no issues with that.
