So I was watching Crank today, and I watched it on film when it came out forever ago, and they were saying "freak" instead of "fuck." And of course they said fuck in film, which made me realize that USA had edited for them to say 'freak' instead. It explains why, when I was watching a different movie, it made no sense that it got 3 stars out of 3 stars, when it seemed terrible, as every other word was 'freak' :24: and I couldn't take it seriosly cuz I was laughing so hard at these "gangsters" that were about to "kill small children" were saying freak instead of fuck, like at that point they would care anymore :24::24::24: Now I realize that they were substituting the words :24:

I wish they would just fade out the words like every other network instead of somehow putting in the word 'freak' like they do. So while I still kind of love the network for producing amazing shows, it fails for me in this instance.

FX did it best with Snakes on a Plane

the quote was something like "I'm getting tired of these mother fucking snakes on this mother fucking plane!"
and the edit was "I'm getting tired of these mother father snakes on this Monday through Friday plane!"

so epic

why put on a movie like crank knowing it has tons of foul language and still show it.

hell AMC has been playing the green mile and in that one in the scene when they go to take john koffee to that guys house to heal his wife. the line where she says "dont come near me, you pig fuck!" i love that line. it's the kind of line AND delivery that really kind of sells her character to me.

anyway i didnt think the scene was the same so i stopped watching. i can always watch it on DVD anyway, i have a copy.

they might as well not show those types of movies. they are packed full of drugs booze gun fire blood and all kinds of other stuff, but you'll change the word fuck to freak. taking all the tits, ass, foul language and really violent scenes ruins the movie.

i cannot watch fight club on cable TV. i will never again attempt to watch fight club on cable TV. i will only watch fight club on DVD or blu-ray.

cable TV fails in this regard. original programming isnt bad though.

Donnie you need to revive that worst thread of the day :D
Sorry, I agree with Bri. :dunno

There's a radio-edit version of the old Everlast song "What It's Like" that bleeps the words "chrome .45" and "drugs". :wtf: The radio station back in Florida used to play it all the time, and it's just ridiculous.

That would drive me mad.

Although you rarely hear the word cunt over here either... I think it should play a more prominent role in tv.
