At night I get relaxed & fall asleep on the couch. I get ready for bed and get comfortable in bed. If the phone rings or a text comes in after i fall asleep in bed I cannot get back to sleep.:(

I don't know about the text thing, but I often fall asleep on the sofa, feeling totally exhausted, can't even keep my eyes open, finally force myself to go upstairs and get into bed and...

Lie awake wondering why I no longer feel tired.

Always happens! More often than none I sit on my laptop browsing whatever, all of a sudden I'm absolutely shattered. So I go get ready for bed and by the time I get into bed, I lie awake for ages! Doesn't make sense!

It's crazy...I've started going to bed early to watch tv because I KNOW as soon as I get comfortable, I'll start dozing and won't want to move. I've spent many nights on the couch for that reason only.

I read, or heard, somewhere that watching tv or being at the computer late in the evening prevents one from falling asleep very well. Something about the monitors/displays gets your brains spinnin', or whatever, I can't recall. If you're having problems sleeping, try shutting down earlier and reading a book.
You know................. :ninja We fellas always wanna fall asleep after a good romp in the hay. Tell the little woman that you have doc's orders for a special "sedative" to help you sleep better.

I have never had a problem sleeping and I never fall asleep on the sofa, I always know when I am tired enough to have to go to bed. I always fall asleep quickly too. I swear I could sleep ANYWHERE.

This is me too. It's one reason why I like traveling long distances by bus. I love sleeping in a moving vehicle.

As long as the sound is consistent, I will fall asleep. I found it pretty relaxing actually lol!

I'm like some of you folks, fall asleep so easy. Clear conscience :D

When I was a kid, my mum used to have to drive me around after taking my brother to playgroup so that I'd fall asleep and have an afternoon nap. I blame that on me sleeping so much when travelling :tooth

I'd wake up, slap you and then fall asleep again :24:

I can force myself to sleep on journeys now. Literally shut my brain down :p I got travel sickness a lot as a teenager, and then realised that if I could just make myself fall asleep as soon as I sat down, be it on a train, plane or bus, then I wouldn't suffer. Particularly on planes, I just buckle up, close my eyes and make myself sleep.

It doesn't work when I'm at home in bed, possibly because there's no threat of impending illness :ninja
