A guys responsibility to put the seat back down after using the toilet?

This is just out of pure curiousity mind you.

If I have to go to the bathroom I check to see if the seat is up first, and if it isn't I'll happily lift it up so's that I can go. If I'm at a customers place of business and the majority of workers are women, I'll put the seat back down... but in a place like my office both women and men use the bathrooms, and I've never seen a woman lift the seat back up after using it.

You already have to touch it to lift it up, So any splatter is yours anyway after the fact, so really , you might as well have to put it back down,

Besides we clean the toilet, so putting the seat back down isnt asking all that much, Lord knows we dont want to have to actually touch the toilet seat without our plastic gloves on.

its all about consideration. WE don't mind if you don't lift the seat up when you pee as long as you clean up your mess. WE don't pee on the floors and seats. YOU do. If you are so inconsiderate and nasty as to not clean up your urine, then you should pick up the seat, pee, and put the seat back down. In my house, I insist on the lid being placed back. So if you are in my home, you put the lid back down. If you pee on my seat and don't clean it up, then you aren't allowed to use my bathroom. I would rather have a nasty man pee in the bushes outside than use MY bathroom. BLECH :D

I never put my seat up, I just piss all around it so my wife can clean it up. And I might even threated to beat her when I'm sober if she doesn't.(jk)

I put it up and down because my mom told me so. lol.

So then if you walk into the bathroom, and the seat is up... do you place it back UP when you're done with it?

My problem with this whole thing lies within the fact that in a multi sex bathroom I have no idea who is going to be using the toilet next. Another guy, or another girl.

So... here's my take on it; When I walked into the bathroom, I had to put the seat up to use it. There by doing work... now why should I have to do the work for the next person by replacing the seat back down where there is a 50/50 chance that the next person using the toilet is going to be a guy?

I guess my ultimate question here is, am I questioning the unwritten yet existant "Woman Law"? I have a feeling that no good can come of this. But curiosity has gotten the best of me... good thing I'm not a cat.

Um, I don't really think I have that problem in my house. There's a toilet lid and a toilet seat. Whether you just lift the lid or lift the lid and the seat, both better be down when you leave that bathroom. That way, everyone has to touch the friggin toilet in one way or another, and no one gets mad if it's left up/down. It shouldn't be too big of a deal since you should be washing your hands after you use it anyway. Bunch of nerds :wink

I remember this topic being covered on talk radio once. Then this girl called in all pissed off that her 3 brothers always leave the seat up and she falls in sometimes. *falls in??? WTF* that has to be the most rediculous thing I have ever heard. I mean, guys don't accidently fall in or sit on the lid. Anyway, the talk show host pointed out to this confussed little girl that she was outnumbered 3 to 1 and that she should put the seat back up for the guys. I agreed. :dunno
When guys have to take a shit, you'll never hear them complaining about having to put the toilet seat down, it's just the whinny bitches that need something to complain about. :rofl

I always lift it to piss as having a younger brother I know what it's like to sit down for a dump and be greeted by a cold sloppy pissy seat. :tard
When I'm done I usually put down the seat and lid. Everyones happy that way :)

haha I dunno... My thinking is if I have to put the lid up to make sure I'm not peeing all over it, then girls should have to put the lid down (without complaining like some have) to make sure they don't fall in!

Yeah... I guess I need to be a woman to understand a womans reasoning. :dunno
