From MBTI to Enneagram, young people love categorizing themselves. Does this provide clarity or box people in?

What's your personality type, and do you think it fits you?

Gen Z’s obsession with personality tests stems from a desire for self-understanding and identity in a fast-changing world. These tests offer structure, language, and validation for personal traits, especially in a digital age where introspection and self-branding are constantly encouraged.

Personality tests give Gen Z a framework to explore and express their identities amid rapid change. They provide relatable language and validation, helping young people understand themselves and communicate their uniqueness in a world driven by social media and personal branding.

Personality tests provide a structured way to explore one's own tendencies, strengths, and weaknesses, which can be particularly appealing to a generation that values self-reflection and personal growth.

I don't know whether they are obsessed or not but I think they do it because a lot of companies are trying to gather customers data through these tests, so they are releasing such kind of personality tests more than ever.
