I dunno if it's just being tired, or what, but any time I stay up all night, like tonight, it's pretty much because I can't sleep. But then a few hours later(Random intervals, last time it took all day, now it's just kicking ing), I get sort of like, I guess you could compare it to a crash when you drink energy drinks, I just get mega tired and have to sleep it off. Is it just my tiredness catching up to me or what? Haha.

that's your problem...you don;t have a routine anymore (school) and aren't getting any type of physical activity, so it's taking a lot more time for your body to get tired. This alwyas happened to me during the summer when i was out of school and not working.

You're body can only take so much, and if you don't make yourself sleep .. it will tell you when it needs to. But waiting til it tells you to is like waiting for your cars oil light to come on .. it's not really a good thing.

Well I understand, but it's not like I can FORCE my body to sleep when I'm not tired, and with school, I got into that pattern. Wake up early, get active, then sleep at this time. Now it's all whack, so I just sleep and wake randomly. How can you get sick? You can't get sick from insomnia. But yes, school is out now. Thanks Claire, I think you had the best explanation, haha. Well, you and SRC. :D

You get sick from waiting til your body tells you it needs sleep. Just like your car will tear up when you wait til the lights start coming on to fix stuff.

Just simply resting is better than just continuing to go about your business. You have to re-train your body on what you want it to do.

When a reasonable time comes .. you should turn everything off and just lay down. If you do it enough, your body will adjust and learn when "sleep time" is.

Only time this won't really work .. is if you have a sleep disorder. Then you really should go see a Dr, not jut let it continue on. A lack of sleep can cause you to have a lot of problems. Your body needs a certain amount of rest, otherwise .. things start to not work properly.

Ah. Well like, last night I laid in the dark for an hour or two, then I just said, "Fuck it". But I know that at least tonight since I was up all night, I'll sleep like a rock :D

I gotta give you rep, never heard anybody compare sleeping to a car so well :D

lol .. well you know they compare a healthy human body to that of a "well oiled machine". :D

Try getting up at an earlier time (don't sleep all day), say before 11am .. that will usually help you go to sleep at night.

That happened to me a few years ago in summer. I couldn't sleep at all at night and during the day I fell asleep even if I was doing something else, I just couldn't keep my eyes open. I think it was because I had too much going on in my mind in that time of my life that kept me awake at night and during the day, my body couldn't take it anymore.
Also, as it has been said, I think it has to do with the lack of rutines also. If you don't force yourself to get up early and go to sleep right after dinner, your cicle gets messed up.

You guys act like forcing your body to go to sleep is easy. :D I'll lay in bed for what feels like forever trying to make myself go to sleep, just doesn't work for me. Only time I can get to sleep is when I actually feel tired.

That's because that's called a sleeping disorder. Medication would probably benefit you greatly.

Saying you don't sleep until you are tired is like saying you don't eat unless you are hungry. But if you train your body to not eat .. what happens .. you don't eat as often (think eating disorder).

You can train your body to do whatever you put your mind to .. unless you have a medical reason .. which is why they make medications to help you. :)
