Right now it has a red X over the 'local area connection' and says that the network cable in unplugged. While the wireless connection says it's good. So the internet is working, but last night it suddenly (I was on the PC, I closed firefox, and when I opened it back up, it had no connection) stopped working. I tried everything to get it working again today, wireless connection still good, just local connection not. Finally I just did a system restore to Christmas and that seemed to fix it, but I don't know what to do if it happens again :willy_nilly:

do you have a password on your wireless connection?

The reason im asking is because i got two pc's at my house, and one of them i use an usb to get the connection working. Everytime i turn the computer on with the usb, the connection is always disconnected and i always have to reconnect by scanning for the available wireless connections and connecting by entering the password

1. Do you use wireless or ethernet?

2. Do you have a firewall such as zone alarm

3. Are firefoxes updates automatic or have you udated to the most recent version recently?

4. Is the problem still persisntant? even though your on the ineternet :p

Oh and th 'password' is called either your WEP or WPA key and shoudl only ever really be needed to be enetred the once ever.

It just happen to me 25 mins ago, I just waited and unplugged the Ethernet line and plugged it backed in, waited a few seconds and it was working perfectly fine. I don't know it could just be your computer being a little bit lag.
