well not all but most. I noticed that when a person preaches religion to non religious people its ok but if someone were to sit there and tell them that religious stuff is crap and bogus they get fucking butt hurt.

In my opinion a religious person telling someone why god exists is the same thing as a non religious person telling someone why he doesnt. Double standard.

Im so tired of my friend fucking preaching to me about this shit. lol and when she gives me stuff with religious info on it i just say ok and put it down and she gets fucking offended lol

but IF i were to sit there and tell her its a not real or what ever shell fucking flip shit.

Do you run into this a lot? What do you think about it?

if a devout person condones the way of life of someone who cares not for doctrine they contardict their own values and as such they must be critical and feel sorrow for the actions of the hell bound

Just sit her down and tell her what you typed here. Word for word. Well, minus the part where you ask what we think. Nothing will ever improve unless you tell her how it makes you feel.

It doesn't really happen to me, I've seen it though. And the above is my advice to them. Life is a hell of a lot better when you're open and honest.

I don't think the religious are more sensitive than the nonreligious. The nonreligious are not upset by those who disagree with them about religion because they don't care about religion. Not so with the religious.

Most people are at least a little offended when someone puts down what they love. I once told a cat lover dogs are smarter than cats. It upset her that I would say such a thing.

I must admit I frequently put down religion but I'm not trolling. I try hard not to put down religion as a whole. My goal is to call attention to the negative aspects of religion. I'm interested in reform and we're seeing it.

In my short experience, 'religous' people who are overly sensitive to others outright contradicting what they (the religous person) say, has not much faith in his/her beliefs and can not properly stand up for what they think they believe in.

but it appears youre annoyed at people trying to convert you and this thread is made to just make fun, potentially, of all religous people.

I try not to talk about my views with people unless i know we're on the same wavelength. Religious people tend to need to try to force their ideals on you. I'm not atheist but I hate hardcore religious people and people who choose to be religious when it suits them. I see it everyday in a support group on Facebook.

You mean you dont agree with people who say hallelujah one minute and then that night talk about how drunk they are gonna get?!

I suppose like BornReady said, the religious folk seem to care more because... well, they do care more. It's not as black and white as 'this is my opinion, it should be equal in emotion to yours' because if the topic isn't something you care about, it's never going to affect you as much as it will someone who really feels passionate about it.

Like if you were a vegetarian for strong, personal reasons and someone who'd eaten meat all their lives was telling you why they thought your way of life was a waste of time. Not only is it hurtful that someone is belittling something you believe in, it's also insulting because they don't really have any idea why you feel the way you do.

I know that sounds like I'm sticking up for religious people and just to be clear, I don't agree with those who start religious discussions or get involved in them and then play the hurt feelings card. I'm sorry but we all know what happens in religious debate - people will disagree with you. If you can't take it, don't get involved.

yeah what you guys say makes sense.

I was just curious. cause I dont go around saying stuff that religion is this and that so to me it seemed the same as someone preaching to you when your not interested in hearing it. I dont mind that a person is religious. I just dont want to hear about it lol
