So here I am this morning, cutting a few limbs off my big tree this morning after work with an electric chain saw, a branch falls away and what do I see? Two pairs of golden eyes on two furry little faces staring right back at me. Not even a foot from my face. Not moving, crying, nothing, just sitting there staring at me! They were right next to each other; by the time I got my camera, one had hopped to the back of this stump-thing and the littler one stayed his ass there, probably hoping that weird guy would come back and take some pictures of him!
this is the one that hopped to the back of the stump (older i'm assuming b/c of the darker color and a little bigger) and no that is NOT my house in the background, who the fuck paints there house puke orange like that)

This is the one that was intently staring into the pit of my soul....

the one on the right was on the right side of the one on the left when the branch came down

this little guy didnt move an inch when I went in to get my camera!

nah i was away cuz i felt like crap. i finished putting away the cut branches for the garbage men (no i didnt cut anymore, i stopped as soon as I saw them.) I think they may be Barred Owls b/c they say that Barred Owls don't (usually) make nests. I checked the wreckage and there were luckily no nests on the ground (or elsewhere in the tree). They were definitely too young to fly because they don't yet have their flight feathers. I think the little one liked me, but I wasnt going to test that theory....

Ive heard owls will attack a person, but only if they feel threatened. You couldn't have known beforehand if he was going to like your plumage or not :p
