and why?

for me it was my oldest sister...I have 2 sisters one 2 years older than me 1 five years older...

The reason she was my hero is because when i was 6 years old we had just moved to CT. went skating up the street from our house and ran into some kid a few years older than her...he was plaing with a real bow and arrow...had a stick shoved up his ass and decided it would be funny to put it dead against my head drawn back threatening to shoot me with it... me being only 6..just learning how to skate...thinking he'd really shoot me...almost pissed my pants...crying hysterically...and my sister...well she just pulled me backwards...stepped right in front of him and said "go ahead asshole...you wanna do it to someone...shoot me" he huffed and stormed away when he realized my big sis wouldnt let him torture me.

She was my hero that day.... and even to this day still tries to protect me from the bullies (though i can do it myself now...but its sweet that she still tries especially considering she doesnt even live in the same state as me)

Well, probably my sister as well. She's only sixteen months older, and we had one of those "I-can-punch-my-little-brother-but-if-you-do-I'll-punch-you" relationships. She's way tougher than I am.

Other than that, I really admire my dad. He's very intelligent and self-knowing. He taught me a lot.

My Grandma, who was a tireless charity worker, volunteer and lobbyist for human rights. She taught me the value of helping others and the knowledge that a single voice can make a difference.

Well, to be completely honest, I mostly looked up to my dad because he meditated in his office all the time, and he spoke to me like an adult when everyone else was patronizing, and he taught me all about karma--something my mother would have flipped over, so I thought it was cool that he told about things behind her back. Haha, he was a rebel.

And he has cool facial hair. I mean, c'mon? How can you not admire a man with an awesome beard?

Both my grandfathers for fighting in WWII
My paternal grandmother for dealing with racism for most of her life
My little brother for overcoming a learning disability and the death of his high school girlfriend (so he's not my earliest hero but he should be mentioned)
