Who Should Light Olympic Torch At London 2012?

Interesting subject, especially to see the views of non British people on here. Who do you think should be given the privelege at London 2012? Personally I think it should go to Steve Redgrave or depending on how she goes this year in China, Paula Radcliffe.:nod:

The lighting of the torch thing really isn't something I consider significant. I know the basic history of it and all, the passing of the flame or whatever...but does anyone really remember very many who have lit it in the past? I think that boxer did it once, that's the only one I recall seeing vid about. And I dunno when that was either.

Muhammed Ali lighting the torch in that USA Olympics was THE highlight to me!:nod: I hope Britain can put on something memorable like that!:nod:

Well after what happened yesterday with the Tibet protests on the London leg of the Olympic torch relay, I'm now saying Konnie Huq from Blue Peter! She might be little but no protester was going to grab that torch from her!
