From a philosophical point, who deserves medical insurance?
Philosophically I say everyone does. From a practical standpoint, I realize it has to be financially viable.
But what is wrong with covering everybody if you can make it work? As it is right now in the U.S. you can walk into any emergency room in the country and you are going to be seen and someone is going to pay your bills, you, the hospital, the insurance companies, higher premiums for the insured, someone is paying. Yeah you might sit there for 5 hours before being seen, but it's all ready happening.
Why not make a more responsible system who does not allow corporate giants to shirk their responsibilities by either not paying insurance or hiring people part time specifically to avoid paying insurance, or do like Wallmart and tell your employees how to go to the Emergency Room to get medical care?
What about the medical system itself? Is there a good reason why U.S. citizens have the highest medical costs in the world?
