which kind of unfaithful relationship is worse, and WHY?

Emotional unfaithfulness can be difficult to wrap your mind around. It’s not like a “real” affair (with intercourse) or a “sort-of-but-not-really” affair (everything but the intercourse). Emotional infidelity doesn't necessarily break spoken vows, create unwanted pregnancies, or spread sexually transmitted diseases. However, it can be as devastating to a marriage or partnership as sexual unfaithfulness - if not more so.

Physical unfaithfulness... Well If i need to go ahead and describe this to you, then you probably have no business in this poll lol but lets just say that physical unfaithfullness is simply having an extra marital sexual experience with someone other than your husband... wow did that make sense? lol... ok maybe a little more simple of a definition:
physical unfaithfullness: FUCKING AROUND on your significant other.

as the betrayed party of an emotional affair, i may be biased.
but like i said before somewhere, i'd much rather it was sport banging than some emotional connection.
it hurts like hell to hear the man you love tell you that they "love you both".

i know that a physical one can also have levels of emotion but for him to say that without even being in the same fuckin state as her, well that just hurts.

you can't compete with a fantasy and that's what an emotional infidelity is.

To me emotionally.. However, BOTH are wrong. But, when you have someone you love tell you that they love someone else, that is much much much worse..

I MAY beable to forgive physical cheating.. but not emotional.. I dunno

Both are pretty horrible

I say emotional, both are bad but physical can be just a one off moment of weakness or drunken stupidity. Emotion would require a lot of work and pre meditation.

it doesnt necessarily have to mean that they love them.
The loss of trust is what would plague the couple the most.

Ok..the thing is i see what your saying about emotional involvement being more deeper than say a one night stand..
But what about the emotional feelings of the other half after finding this out?..it would still take a hell of a lot of work to overcome either,...cuz i know damn straight i wouldnt have my man back if hed dipped it in sum1 elses pot!!

they both suck and they both hurt.
the physical affair brings a whole new set of issues like testing for STDs etc etc. Adds even more humiliation to an already fucked up situation.

Well, I HAVE been cheated on..... and found out from the "other girl" who i refer to now as the "bitchface man stealing whore" ....... I cant even put into words how i felt, how my mind spun out of my head i swear to God, and how it takes a piece of you away that you can never get back. As i say, i could never forgive either.......and as much as i hate him for what he did, it was just physical.

And after all that.....i still think an emotional affair is worse.

kk...now im depressed :(

Not saying that I could actually forgive it completely, I do believe I could get over physical cheating much quicker than emotional. Emotional is such a deep rooted type of cheating I think that kind of hurt could not be rectified. I also am not sure that on a long enough timeline physical cheating will not create emotional cheating and vice versa. However, emotional cheating is definitely the more egregious act in my opinion.

emotional cheating.

As a person who has been the person that a person has emotionally cheated with (if that makes sense)
I would have felt better if it was just physical.
no emotional attachment?
idk. I just think that to cheat emotionally means you love some one else, wereas to cheat physically, its just a physical thing.

Poetically, emotional infidelity is worse. However, typing somene isnt the same thing as sticking your penis in something, or letting a penis be stuck in you. Its like murder I vs murder II, both should be punished, but one is almsot always going to be meditated on. Its much easier just to jerk off/talk dirty to someone, than physically go threw the steps and fucking someone. Im sure for a killer, premeditated murder also feels better than a random killing out of grief. A disturbing analogy, but Ill stick with what started with.
