Who is it that's suing Amazon/IMDB for revealing her real age?

Article said:
"If one is perceived to be 'over the hill,' ie approaching 40, it is nearly impossible for an up-and-coming actress, such as the plaintiff, to get work as she is thought to have less of an 'upside'," the actor's complaint reads. She is seeking $1m or more in punitive damages and $75,000 or more in compensatory damages. She accuses IMDb and its parent company Amazon of breach of contract, fraud, and violation of privacy and consumer protection laws.

Agreed

How silly. It's not at all about your actual age, it's about what age you look. How can you sue someone for giving away something your appearance gives away by default?

And I didn't know Amazon owned IMDB, interesting.

I know she is Canadian, but she could be residing in Texas which would allow her to file the suit... she was the first 40 y/o asian actress I could think of...

I didn't know that either! Regarding the actress though, she didn't apparently want her age known for two reasons - that she can't audition for her actual age because she doesn't look that old (apparently!). The second one being the main focus of course - that she can't get roles for being older than she looks.

Looking at Betty White as an example that age is not relevant, I think she is making a mistake that will cost her more in the long run..

If you are a good actress it should not really matter. If she had been that great her name would have been made and age would be irrelevant anyway..

Her point in the social media will be lost as IMBD will surely pull up something on her with her age listed.. In any case IMBD must have gotten that age somewhere and this will be there case..

I completely agree. There are plenty of actresses OVER the age of 40 who manage to get work because they are good at what they do.
