Every wash day into my washing machine I place matched pairs of socks, and at the end of every wash day I am left with a plethora of partnerless socks. What other explanation can there be other than the humble innocuous looking washing machine is a portal for the integalactic travel of socks, giving socks of all colours, sizes and purposes readily available mass transporter access.
