When do you start shopping for Christmas?

I think if you start shopping too soon, you might miss new products that havent come out until you've already finished if you follow me. New things constantly come out and make other things obsolete or outdated

we draw names. name drawing doesnt happen till thanksgiving. once we know who we are buying for, then we can shop. sometimes its not till the week before christmas, sometimes sooner. NEVER black friday and NEVER on the weekends!!

I'm not doing much actual buying. More creating. Making a lot of progress. I have no option but to start early though, or else I'll do like the first time I did handmade and stay up until 6 AM Christmas morning frantically trying to finish. :(

We do names for Matt's side- got the name for his stepmom's side. Done with that already. No clue on his dad's side yet, so I'm just waiting. Hopefully it will be someone I know.

like i said, we draw name. but if either me or hubby gets my aunts, sisters, grandmaws, or mom's name, we dont have to buy anything!! there are a couple of pieces of jewelry that i ordered from Premier Jewelry that i dont like as much as i thought i would. those pieces will be going to them!

Back in the early 70's it was a tradition for me to shop on X-Mas eve

The stores used to be empty

Then they started having sales at the last minute so that now it is pretty busy

Since I was married I only had to shop for the wife

That might be the one thing in the future I won't miss. Because while I love to give gifts I hate the shopping for them.

Seems like I end up not ever knowing what is the right thing to get.

Well I rarely see my friends, and me and my siblings don't buy anything for each other strangely. Usually I just buy something for my mum. Usually in November/December. If I have a significant other at the time I usually buy them something too around the same time, probably in December.
