On using animals for our entertainment, like hunting for fun (not for food) and bull fighting, dancing bears, bear baiting, dog fights etc where the animal is tortured/traumatised before being killed ( mostly), is that acceptable in our day and age or do you think its barbaric, I sure bloody do and I dont know why it still goes on.

If it isn't for food, then it is not something I like. I do not believe an animal should suffer, and I get a little upset at the thought of it

I am a hunter. I am also a sportsman. Most of what I have shot I have eaten or attempted to eat. I will however dispose of creatures which are destructive or dangerous for a landowner. As a sportsman I will never let an animal suffer. A quick kill is the way to keep an animal from suffering.

Now if you are talking about taking dogs hunting, like bird or something, I am fine with that, the dogs enjoy it! It's a form of play/exercise. If you are talking dog fighting I think it's barbaric. As for dog racing I'm not against it but what I've heard about how they treat the losers I'm disgusted by that. I would not go to a bull fight I think that's disgusting. And as for running with the bulls, I'm cheering the bulls on-stupid people.

I agree with Skorpy. I'm really not a fan of hunting, but it's better than dog fights/everything else listed. It actually has a purpose.

in the way in which you asked, it is certainly wrong! Animals should never be take advantage of. Humans have a superiority complex when it comes to other life forms and we need to get off our high horses and respect all life as we would another human being.
