What's wrong with drinking alcohol on a week day?

I recently watched a debate about people who drink and when they choose to do it. Some people like to drink on weekdays. It may be just because or simply a way to relax after a hard days work. Society says "find another hobby", while I think, people should be able to drink whenever they want as long as they are not abusing the use of alcohol?

I believe people should be allowed to do exactly whatever they want as long as it's not related to somebody else. If they want to drink on weekdays, so be it, I find nothing wrong with that.

How much are you drinking? If that is your hobby I would guess that you are an alcoholic.
As a recovering alcoholic I am against it.

Nothing wrong with it. Alcoholism used to be an ignored problem, and social standards encouraged people to drink when they didn't particularly want to. I think the pendulum swung a little too far in the other direction, making drinking outside of accepted situations and times a "red flag". Things will settle down eventually.

Outside of the US it is very common to drink on a weekday, or during the daytime. The question comes down to the individual; how much are you drinking overall, how often are you getting drunk (vs having a beer with a meal, or whatever), and are you using drink as a form of medication (to reduce stress, to get to sleep, etc) in place of a real solution.

I agree there is nothing wrong with drinking during the week. As long as you drink responsibly and don't get drunk every weeknight then there's no problem. I know some people abuse alcohol, but that doesn't mean everyone who drinks does.

There is nothing wrong with drinking alcohol on a week day at all. I would never judge someone that drinks alcohol while having a good time with friends. If they do it somewhat responsibly and dont drink and drive its fine with me.

I drink on a weekday all the time! I just don't get drunk on a weekday, because I typically have work or classes the next day. Nothing like a beer after a long Monday!

I think as long as it's not excessive amounts or every single day it's no big deal. I think the reason why a person drinks is important and really only the individual knows.

You can drink whenever you please. The definition of someone with a drinking problem is not someone who drinks on specific days or even at specific times. It becomes a matter of has this something you are addicted to come before things it should not? Has it replaced what should be important to you? Are the consequences irrelevant? I find those a heck of a lot more important than 'do you drink on a Wednesday'?

Moderate drinking is fine, but someone times when you say 'drinking' it means going out for a night on the town. In which case it is not recommended as productivity at work will drop due to recovering from hangovers.

Nothing. As long as you mind your own business and do not involve other people and get into trouble. You can drink all you want. Sometimes, I even go to work drunk in order to get a bit of confidence. But most of the time, I drink at night before I go to bed so that I would have a very peaceful sleep. There's nothing wrong in that I think.

As long as done in moderation where it doesn't wreck your health or interfere with ones social life I see no problem with it.

When I was younger I could party a couple times during the week and get up for work with no problem. Not anymore though. That stuff has a way of catching up to you in many ways. So use moderation please.

As long as you do it with moderation, it's fine in my opinion. Make sure you actually do it in moderation though. A year ago I tried to combine school with partying multiple times a week. I thought I could handle living by myself easily and that it wouldn't become a problem at all. Yea big mistake. Ended up failing my first year of college and having to move back to my parents because of money issues. So again, use common sense and moderate it.

In some societies, it's entirely acceptable to have that evening cocktail every day.
Moderation is the key.
Getting blasted on a daily basis isn't a good thing.

There's nothing wrong with it. Too many people take this holier than though stance. And, it's ridiculous. Dependency is one issue, but just having a drink or two and the end of the day is perfectly fine.

Well whatever damage that you can cause on the weekday can't you do that same thing on the weekend? Some people might wait all the way to drink on the weekend and because they have been waiting on this all week they may go overboard. It's all about the person and what they have going on.

There's nothing wrong with it so long as it does not get in the way of you living your life. If its something that you waste all your money on and leaves you drunk and alone every night instead of casually drinking with friends then its bad, otherwise more power to you.

A small toast of alcohol is harmless, and if you drink after work hours, there's no reason why not as long it will help you unwind after a day at the office. It's fine to drink at most a small glass of alcohol sparingly, but if you are at risk of breaching the maximum alcohol level, you may be liable for drunk driving.
