What's Wrong With Britain

Oh right, even though it says in their info, that they have other language speaking staff and:

Maps, souvenir guides and touch screen information throughout the Museum are also available in a number of different languages.
yeah, but stuff I have to spend a lot of money in? I didn't see any touch screen information and of course didn't think about asking the staff around, lol. But it was still a nice museum. Not one in which the language was so important I must admit.

Maria does raise an interesting point though. Whenever I've gone to Europe they put us to shame by all being able to speak our language whereas its a lot harder for foreign language speaking people over here! I also don't like the way a lot of our people represent our country abroad by being arrogant, pissed up yobs.:(
I have spoken with some brits over here in Spain and they say it is because in Britain speaking other languages is not considered so important for teachers and parents. I think it's a pity.

Oh, and Maria, next time you're over you want to go to the Museum of London, the National gallery and the national portrait gallery. I was going to take you along to the two galleries last time you were over if you were interested in that.:( Maybe next time.:)
I def want to do that. I love museums but my parents don't so much, so next time I would be happy to go :)
I also want to go to the botanic gardens, I love them :)

Yep, there are a lot to get round, so not easy to do all in one go.

Interesting you thought the Natural History and the Science museums similar - I suppose we each have different stances on things.

Well, you certainly did tour maria - how long were you here for? :)
:
Well, over here museums close around 8:30 PM, more than two hours later if I remember correctly.
They are of course different in some ways, but I think that they are taken cared by the same people... don't ask me why, lol. Both of them were awesome.
I was just there for a week. I def have to go back and tour even more. I wanted to go to Cambridge and all.

Oh right, well a certain part of Cambridge is very architectural too, but only in one area of it really - but if you do come over and want to, we can stay overnight there if you like? Oxford is also very historical and architectural, I would love to go back there sometime. Again, it is mainly in the university area that holds the interest in both Cambridge and Oxford, but they are still beautiful places, but again, quite expensive. :)

That would be great Ria... I guess university students party a lot over there too? we could join them :D

I have only been there in the evening once and that was with someone who had no get up and go in them and was very boring and miserable, so wouldn't know about the students partying - mind you, I am not too old and past it yet to find out, so I'd be up for that!!! :D

Ah, Cambridge is excellent! We go there quite a bit, it's just up the road from Harlow. The best way to see all the Universities is to get a guided tour on a punt down the backs. We did that with a friend who came over from Australia last year and it was well worth it!

Yeah, that's something I haven't done in Cambridge yet, the Punts.

How much are the punts Peter? I know it depends which tout you pay but just roughly?

Maybe we should do that then when Maria comes over, if she would like. :)

I will only get one whole day I could do when my son goes off for contact, depending which weekend it would be, so that would be nice to do. :)

You can walk around some of the uni's too, depending when they are taking exams. They are open to walk round at different times from eachother. We could do that too, to get a better look of the buildings if all agreed?

I think we paid a tenner per person. Bit pricey, I know but it was worth it. Its definately the best way to see all the Universities and learn an overall history of them all in one go. I think you have to pay to get in the Universities and its a seperate charge for each one so as well as involving a lot of walking it can be very pricey too! I'd definately be up for that though!:)

I think £10.00 is a good price for the punts.

I've walked in the grounds of uni's there (Trinity was one) and didn't have to pay anything. :) Didn't go inside though.

If we do do that, then we can check it out nearer the time and we will get a better idea then. :)

See what Maria says now too eh? :)

We went home in the first phase.:D Players were supposedly treated like rock stars and had bodyguards aand minders.Coiuld of used them on the pitch instead of the players:p

Cant complain about losing to France or Argentina, barely beating Georgia and Namibia was worse than awful though
