I have a lot of different firefox pages up- some with school research, some with stuff I want to buy, but every time I get on, the little links at the bottom on the start bar are messed up. All five are showing up now, but when I got on, only two were, so I have to click the desktop short cut, unclick it and then minimize each page that pops up to get the others to show.

What gives?

I have multiple tabs on each window. I can't ever just do one thing- I am the epitome of multitasking.

It had problems coming back on today and some yesterday. I think I'm going to just close them all. Actually, now that I think about it, John said I have very little memory left on it. Maybe it just can't handle all of this?

So I was going to do that and decided to look in the system restore because I tried to do that a couple months ago and couldn't. I still have no restore points. That makes me uneasy.

I can't find the defrag. I've done it before, so I'm sure I'm looking in the right place, but I think it's gone!

My roommate completely stripped my computer a few months ago and only put back what he thought it needed. I'm learning over time that he's not all he thinks he is.

I know a good free online tech support site if you are interested. You may have a virus if there are no restore points. You would need to run a program called Hijack This and then post the results. There are some obvious signs that show up when you run the program but it takes a pro to know what it takes to remove.

I think most of you are overcomplicating it. Ctrl+alt+delete, task manager, and look phys memory/cpu usage. If you dont have a ton of ram, your PC wont be able to handle having like 3 windows with 7-8 tabs up at a time. I know it happens to me using vista 32 bit os using its max amount of ram (3.1 or 3.2 gbs or whatever).

Honestly, this sounds nothing like a hi-jacker though. Hi-jackers pretty much dictate movement of your browser, you just seem to be having technical difficulties.
