what's the privilege aspect in the modern hollywood movies?

What's the privilege in the modern Hollywood movies: amazing computer graphics or well written script (idea of film)?
And what do you like the most in modern films (not only Hollywood ones)?

I too would rather have a well written script that keeps me guessing, like Sixth Sense, etc. BUT, I do like Science Fiction too and I will watch Aliens, Terminator II, and many others time and time again because of both the plot and the special effects. But there has to be some good acting too.

I did enjoy Avatar for instance, but having seen it once, I don't care to see it again.

Did you watch a different Terminator 2? That whole movie is special effect after special effect.

I like all kinds of movies. Like Zorak said, I like a movie for what it is. People complain that Hollywood continues to put out shit, yet they release movies that gross over a billion dollars world wide. Someone is watching them.
