What's past the edge of the universe?

The theories that scientists come up with about the end of the universe talk about either the universe continually expanding, or reaching a certain point and then moving in on itself, resulting in an implosion creating a second big bang. However, this makes me think: What's past the universe's edge?
 
Near as any one can tell, physics says that there is nothing & I mean literally nothing, outside our universe. Before the big bang there was nothing & then a singularity exploded, rather spectacularly causing our universe to come into being.

The universe expanded into the nothing.

If there are other universes, they would be in another space/time & therefore not in our universe or the nothing that is outside it.

Nope.
Consciousness ends when the body dies. It began when we were born(or shortly before, depending on where you lean in the birth/life issue).
Also, life begins and ends and has the possibility of all ending, ie; the cessation of life on earth, turning it to not much more than Mars or Venus.
The nature of the Universe is not static, it's dynamic, changing all the time, which in and of itself makes it finite; it's the vastness beyond our scope of knowledge that lends credence to the idea of infinity.
 
Cosmic energy might be infinite. The energy from life is not. Now, one could argue that even life force is infinite as, when death of anything occurs, from flowers to elephants, matter changes in the form of decomposition, feeding the earth, tree grows, drops seeds, seeds grow etc. Not sure that's infinite energy though.
 
Well I was thinking. We do have some form of energy that has to go somewhere. I mean, there are electric charges inside our body like a computer. I think anyways. So...if lightening is infinate energy. I mean, thats gotta be energy at one of its rawest points. Wouldnt the energy we use to send signals to other parts of our body have to travel somewhere? I dont know, I'm just brain storming really. What do you think?
 
I do think we can control energies. Some call it ESP, some call it 'connections' or empathy That feeling that you get when you think of someone and they call. Or, maybe you were sick or got hurt and your mom calls because she suddenly became concerned, but wasn't aware of your malady .
We all have it to some degree, but too often shrug it off as 'coincidence'. How often do we read of some poor schmoe down on his luck, buys a lottery ticket and wins or finds something that gets him a big reward?
When you open your eyes in a completely dark room, you might notice what looks like graininess. Those are molecules in the air. Electric charges, if you will. Every breath changes the course of those molecules. It may seem really farfetched to think that those molecules in the room in turn change others, but....is it that farfetched? Or is it like placing a finger in the sand at the beach....you changed the sand in the vicinity-do you really know if you changed the sand 100 ft away? A mile? Science would probably say no, but in a way, you have, if only by pressing those grains against others...and against others, ad infinitum. And, when you remove your finger, those grains won't go back to their original formation. The hole will be filled, but grain A won't be where it was, and so on.
It's the same with time/energy/life force. It's dynamic, it's connected to everything else-you just have to know how to use it, manipulate it as best you can, but understand that, even if you don't, it is infinite with or without you. And can be totally random.
 
the matter of infinity might be simple. if a person, even a child can grasp it, then i would think it to be as true as breathing. you start at 1 and keep counting, you could count "forever" given a forever amount of time. i know that all numbers are really just accumulated 1's, but counting is a function that delivers a purpose, and one is the sign of the infinite. there are many examples of this in geometry and other mathamatics. as for the universe, i cant see why either it, or the "nothingness" that it grows into cant share the same properties that its inhabitants have found in the mix
