if humanity abandoned him. Many logical questions that are relevant to humans, not God, run deep. And rightfully so...not saying I disagree with Christianity, just acknowledging that questions should be asked and answers be revealed.

Would you follow God if he made no promise to you? If not, I donnot see love, I see a business deal. If so, for what reason?

To Christian readers: This isn't intended to break your faith, but indeed to strengthen it by fabricating your root beliefs through thought experience...afterall, God is of unfathomable faith.

Hey, it's already happened. There are thousands of God's disgarded to the history books.

Some of them were lucky enough to become the inspiration to the names of planets, or continue to exact some sort of symbolic or allegorical existence. Most are just forgotten though, and the world keeps on spinning.

Wow, thousands of gods are out of work? I guess things are tough all over.:jk

lol God is truly unemployed. He can't even make lightning anymore. Some people still attribute the big bang or abiogenesis to him but those things happened billions of years ago. Hardly job security for today. ;)

Billions and billions of years ago? Not according to this article:

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Big_Bang

Here is what this article claims: The best available measurements as of 2011 suggest that the initial conditions occurred about 13.7 billion years ago.

13.7 billion is hardly billions and billions but maybe you got it confused with a McDonald's sign! hahaha!

I was joking. That's what the wink was for. Many religious people say they feel God's presence. God comforts and strengthens them. That's work enough for anyone.

Anyway, I don't understand you criticism. Is it not proper to use the plural form of a word when there is more than one? Would you agree 13.7 is more than one?

There will always be some sort of "god" around as long as there is someone left to believe in one.

I agree and that's not bad as long as believers are tolerant of the beliefs of others. Where ever someone finds their mystery and fulfillment is good provided they follow the golden rule. As for me, I find my mystery in the natural world and my fulfillment in my family.

hahaha! Joking? nah, you were wrong.

13.7 is more than one but it is not billions and billions. You just repeatedly make false statements that's all.

well put, but that will never happen because there will always be people out there who have to prove their 'god' is better than your 'god'!

there's no way ill believe youre actually this stupid, so i will safely assume you do it out of anger =D

You are correct. He's plenty smart. I don't know why he made an issue of me writing "billions of years" instead of "13.7 billion years". I'm guessing he was just tired and in a foul mood. Everyone has an off day once in awhile.

Edit: Actually billions of years is more correct because I was referring to two events only one of which occurred 13.7 billion years ago. But both occurred billions of years ago.

It's important to remember the basis for the thousands of forgotten Gods is no different than the basis for the "one true God".

Or he has a misplaced sense of humor. ;)

If you had said billions to begin with it would have been ok but I can't let "billions and billions" slide. After all there seems to be so much "faith" in facts around here that it would be like sinning against that faith to make such a mistake. But I do see you have corrected your mistake and repented so all is well.:thumbup :)
