Okay, so it's storming like crazy outside right now, and normally I'm cool with the whole rain thing, but it's thundering and there's lightning and these huge randrops slamming against the windows. And there's this mosquito flying around and I can't find it, and it's bitten me, like, five times.

Matt and I live in a loft apartment, and the thunder echoes on the roof, and it's really dark inside and Matt isn't here.

My point is, I am the hugest wuss ever, and the cat and I are cowering together with my laptop.

So, tell me what you are irrationally afraid of, so that I don't feel so intensely awkward.

Even though the likelyhood of an encounter with one is minimal, I am deathly afraid of sharks. At the same time, though, I am fascinated by them. But sometimes when I am swimming in the ocean, the thought that I am sharing the water with a fish that is capable of taking off an arm or a leg frightens me to no end.

I think I can definitley wait for death. I have a lot to live for right now, so I am in no hurry for that to happen.

:agree so very true.
With working in the ER, you NEVER know who will come in that you know. Last year, my grandma came by ambulance and died shortly after she got there, while I was at work.

Drowning... I was watching Law and Order last night and some gangsters had tied an anchor/chain around this guys legs and threw it overboard. Suddenly he was pulled from the ship and into the East River...

I fucking thought about that the rest of the night. It freaks me out to think about drowning.

I used to swim in Lake Ouachita all the time when I lived there. I was always more worried about the Water Moccasins than anything else.

I lived in Arkansas for three years. I have been here in Spain for a year and a half. Only six more months till I transfer back to the States and then I will most likely be in Norfuck, Va.

I have no problems swimming anywhere really, part of my fear of drowning stems from the fact that I almost did when I was a kid in a lake somewhere up north.

I remember being told that there's a deep spot right behind this pier, but I'd forgotten about it, so as I was just walking along the lake bed, it suddenly dips off and I went under, I freaked out and completely forgot how to swim until one of my parents friends who was up there with us appeared out of nowhere and grabbed me.

If I'd kept calm I could have just floated myself on my back and swam over to where I could get my footing... but that adrenaline kicked my ass.
