Certain cultural practices conflict with modern human rights standards. Should communities abandon them, or reinterpret safely? Who decides which practices are acceptable, insiders or global society? How can debate guide reform without erasing identity?

Who decides what tradition is controversial. "Controversial Traditions" is a subjective term
I think preserving traditions should consider both cultural value and ethical impact. Since “controversial” is subjective, communities, cultural leaders, and society at large should debate what aligns with current moral standards. Dialogue, context, and openness to change help decide which traditions are celebrated, adapted, or retired responsibly.
