That's pretty much what everybody says, stripped of all context, but it changes drastically under application. Suddenly "doesn't" expands to "doesn't potentially" and the definition of "hurt" explodes to cover everything down to "piss off" "insult" or even "violate the tender sensibilities of".

Arguments between people that espouse "do what you want as long as it dosen't hurt others," but disagree on what it means, is the bread and butter of political, philosophical, & religious forums.

My mother always told me not to judge a book by its cover....so I try to look beyond the exterior. Also,....I am a big believer in karma, forgive and forget and live and let live....not necessarily in that order

stand up for your beliefs

have an informed opinion on everything, simply agreeing is not enough

Although I don't feel Jesus was the son of God (that is if he existed at all), but as a symbol he set a pretty good standard that goes beyond seeing after your own needs. Morality must include empathy and actions on behalf of others, otherwise you just a self centered inferior person imo.

I do what I think is right... and actually that's all there is to say bout that ; )

don't ask anything from anyone you wouldn't be prepared to do yourself.

other than that, my morals are extremely flexible: every situation should be judged on it's own merit. There is no place for absolutes in this world.

I'm definitely not religious but that quote "Do unto to others as you would have them do to you" works for me.
