This is pretty much true. I don't really have an accent from anywhere. I live in a big city, its in the south, but that's probably why no accent.

"You have a Midland accent" is just another way of saying "you don't have an accent." You probably are from the Midland (Pennsylvania, southern Ohio, southern Indiana, southern Illinois, and Missouri) but then for all we know you could be from Florida or Charleston or one of those big southern cities like Atlanta or Dallas. You have a good voice for TV and radio.


I don't know. My relatives started out in Pennsylvania, then my immediate family all came from Illinois, somewhat near the Chicago area. But I've lived in California, the Bay Area, all my life.
Some words I pronounce with an English accent, which makes my daughter laugh and tell me to try to speak it in a "normal" voice; whatever "normal" is! Sometimes I speak with a Filipino accent, especially after I go to a Filipino party and I'm the only "White Boy" there!
