I don't how many of you listen to this or if it is offered in your area.

This girl in my BLAW class said that Walton & Johnson claimed Obama was trying to get illegal immigrants minimum wage. My teacher said that Obama just trying to intimidate employers who were hiring illegal immigrants to save money.

Either way I felt like telling the girl to just stop listening to Walton & Johnson and her problem would be solved.

Yall feel me on that?

you did?

I think they are sexist, and I think it's weird how they are conservative yet one of them acts like a gay man??

Like I said, I only heard a little bit, they came on as I was going to bed. They seemed like stereotypical Texans, but that's what I expected in Houston.

How could you possibly go about passing laws to protect the rights of people directly for breaking the law? Sorry, this just dosent make any sense whatsoever to me.

lol walton & johnson are close to the biggest waste in radio

Its jut a show that like DT mentioned it plays on the stereotypical side of things.

they have the 2 main hosts, a seemingly gay dude, a guy that sounds like your average backwoods/ghetto black man and a straight up red neck.

They all try to joke on politics and stereotypes just the basic ol' crap that shouldnt be allowed in the radio.

No i dont like them
yesm, they do play on the stereotypical texan, gay and black thing

THE only and only reason i listen to that radio station is because it is the only station in Houston that plays classic rock.

in other words get her to stop listening to that shit...

Amazing that this subject appears in OffTopicz! Short answer: I can't stand them. They appeal to a certain demographic, but I won't go there.

My introduction to W&J was in Houston about a year ago, listening to them drone on daily about guns and Obama's intent to prevent individuals from reloading their own ammo and his intent to remove the good deal of no background checks at guns shows. He's the Devil I tell you! W&J were misinformed about reloading ammo and I think you need background checks for gun purchases, but that is just me. ;)

THE only and only reason i listen to that radio station is because it is the only station in Houston that plays classic rock.

You need to scan the radio again. I want to say there are at least 3 good classic rock stations in Houston, except one of them might be 80's only. I listen to the Eagle in the morning and after the dufus's are off the air, switch to The Arrow later in the day. :)

Well, I said I listen to them occasionally, so I must be whatever demographic you're trying to disparage. I got off work at 4:30am, and they came on at 5. So I never heard more than a few minutes tops. Occasionally I would work til 6:00am, and listen for the entire 10 minute drive home. So please, exclude me from whatever little clique of people you're trying to call morons. Thanks.

I should not have replied to your particular post. I'll correct that. My statement was to no one in particular. Intent was not to pick on you. Apologies. I'll be more careful in the future. :)

Since I ignored this in my first reply, got carried away demeaning W&J...Hard to say. There is a dichotomy between politicians who speak against illegal immigration and the businesses who want to hire them. As I find the Republican Party tends to be "business oriented" I view their overtures against illegal immigration to be less sincere than they proclaim. In fact I'll go farther and say that maybe not rank and file Republicans, but the Republican Party would be more than thrilled if we were all making minimum wage (or less) as that would mean bigger profits for the people who count.

On the other hand, I could see Democrats fighting to help illegals in their misguided moments. I believe illegal immigrants should be "helped" to the other side of the border. ;) The problem becomes what is doable and affordable?

Its a crazy idea, because that would make it legal to hire illegals. And it would probably drive them out quickly, because they wouldn't have the advantage of working for significantly less. Jobs for them would be much harder to come by. I guess we'd find out if they really do jobs Americans don't want to do.

I agree.

There are some jobs that American's don't want to do, but they might if they were making more than minimum wage. Construction is a biggy. Many of what used to be relatively good paying jobs have been handed over to immigrants willing to work for less. The reason they, (the immigrants) are there to undermine those jobs is the failure of our immigration policies. Employers make out. Legal "citizen" employees suffer.

They say words and do nothing.
They pass laws then don't enforce them.
The ones that claim to be the most compassionate are the worst oppressors because they do all they can to convince the aliens that they can never move beyond their current station.
The ones that claim to be the most righteous do nothing to either make it easier for more to come legally or make it harder for employers to hire illegally.

Hypocrites all, when it comes to the Mexican border. There's not one sincere soul among them.

Walton and Johnson..ugh! I forgot they are broadcast in other cities and states. I listened to them once and that was more than enough. Come to find out, it's only 2 dudes. The "gay dude and the black dude" are just corny voices one of them do. Reminds me of a crappy morning zoo type of show with politics and gun talk. I'm glad I got XM radio so I don't have to hear the craptastic stations Houston has to offer.
