XCode is Apple's IDE. It does Objective C, C and C++.

.NET WILL work on Mac. You just need to get mono. The .NET CLR and the C# language are now ECMA standards and no longer controlled by Microsoft. Mono is implementing those ECMA standards in their CLR implementation which runs on Mac, several UNIX flavors and even Windows. For a .NET IDE on Mac you can get MonoDevelop, which is the Mono compatible equivalent to SharpDevelop, a free IDE for Windows that is very good if you don't have access to the full version of Visual Studio (it offers more features than Visual C# Express).

Also, how much did that MAC book cost you? I guarantee the PC equivalent is cheaper. Plus, if you know how to use a computer safely you won't get viruses, like me. I don't use a virus or spam blocker, and I've never gotten either on my current machine, which runs windows XP.

Not running virus software is just irresponsible, I don't care how "careful" you are. Mac OS X isn't better because it doesn't get viruses, it's better because it's better. Windows is actually a very archaic OS, it's basic interface design principles haven't changed in 15 years and are way behind what we consider a modern interface. Even Vista doesn't change the Windows interface much, it just skins it with pretty colors.

Obviously a CAD comic proves that Mac's are lame, of course...especially since most major web comic artists (PvP and Penny Arcade to name a couple) both use Macs to draw their comics and use them as their personal machines, making it ironic that you would post a web comic as an anti-Mac joke.

wow take it personal then. you'd think I was talking to steve jobs or something. Both types of users are set in their ways anyways, so I don't see either one of us ever persuading the other to think differently. I've never had a bad personal experience with PC, nor have I when I've used Macs. I simply prefer windows because it allows me to play games (yeah, I know, Macs can do that too now, blah blah). Simple as that.

I'm not taking it personally, and all of my machines are Windows machines. I don't use a Mac :) I just know that they are quality machines. The only non-Windows box I use is my FreeBSD machine.
