Hmm... I think that happened to my computer once, and I just shut it off, and when I turned it back on it didnt do that anymore. But... don't take my advice when it comes to this... I suck at computer smarts.

If it made the sound before windows started and was still on all that "giberish" black and white screen it sounds like a stuck key on the keyboard. If that is the case just run to your local electronics store or wallmart and pick up a new one for a coupple of bucks.
If it was after windows booted up that probably wasnt the cause. I dont know of any virus that would cause your computer to make that noise. If its not the stuck keyboard it was probably a corupted sound driver witch all you got to do is uninstall it through the controll panel and reboot, or a bad sound card withc will require repacement(like $5.00 for the part).

whoa, I just realized you where talking bout a laptop. If the reinstalling of the drivers dont fix it you are gonna have to get it repaired by someone who knows what they are doing. This is the exact reason why I try to talk people out of buying a laptop if they dont absolutely need it. Repairs are expensive and complicated.

Nope, not a virus. Unless the programer just created it to mess your pc up and not steal your data. All virus's steal some data and/or manipulature your computer. That is how they make money. They dont code virus's for no good reason.

It's not a virus. I know that much. It prob was a (like ouachiski said a sound driver. Or like my laptop it could be a problem with the sound card or a really small one with the hard drive. I would have it looked at tho.
