Veterans Day Vandals Touch a Nerve

It's a touchy thing with me, granted I do not agree with the war in Iraq, however I do not blame the troopes for doing there job. My father is a veteran from a contreversial war (Vietnam) so I can not agree with purpose, yet still respect those that do the job they are asked to do.

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself."

John Stuart Mill
English economist & philosopher (1806 - 1873)

Amen.

Now THAT post deserves rep.

Those asshole kids. They really should have thought about this before they went about doing shit like that. If they hadn't thought of disgracing a great War Memorial, then they should've at least thought of all that hard work that that couple, and the men who had volunteered to keep that memorial in shape.
