Intel has come up with Core 2 Quad processor for notebook and desktop PCs. Its designed to handle massive compute workloads enabled by powerful multi-core technology. Optimized for the longest possible battery life without compromise to performance, Intel Core 2 Quad processors for notebooks allow you to stay unwired longer while running the most compute-intensive applications.

Just because the dual core might not be as fast as the quad core doesn't mean it's useless. :)

Quoted for you dont know jack mate lol

Only difference between a quad and a dual is that it has two more cores!

Say you have a quad and a dual both running at 3ghz with 4mb of l2 cache whilst benchmarking on a non multi threaded application then the scores will be near identical

Anyway most apps are not multi threaded and those that are generally just use two cores anyway. And windows (ecspecially XP) most certainly was never designed to run on more than one core!

Core 2 Duo are generally faster due to there faster native clock speeds

Yeah, I got a friend who bought a Quad and he kind of regretted that. Could have got more power for the same price if he went with a Core 2 Duo. So basically the point I'm trying to make is, what he said.
