VATICAN CITY, Oct. 18 (UPI) -- The Vatican's official newspaper proclaimed "The Simpsons" patriarch Homer a Catholic, although "he does everything he can to hide it."

L'Osservatore Romano's article, "Homer and Bart are Catholics," praised the animated Fox sitcom for being "among the few TV programs for children in which Christian faith, religion and questions about God are recurrent themes," Britain's The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

I thought they weren't Catholics. Which is why in one episode Homer and Bart join the Catholic Church and Marge gets them out.

They're clearly protestant or anglican or something similar. They have a reverend for one.

Anyway, he's meant to be a fat lazy stupid useless fuck up. Perfect example of some dinosaur trying to get down with the kids and commenting about a show he's never ever seen.
