Veronica, I had one of those remove ( a cyst ) in my arm.. They checked it to make sure it was not cancerous so I imagine the first time they operated they sent a piece of it in for analysis ?
I also remember my mother having these a lot when she was alive and they would use a laser to remove them.. They would put her to sleep and would do the surgical laser cut. Because hers were internal ( bladder and other organs ) it was always a big problem for her as hers were cancerous..
I know these can take different shapes depending on the type.. I remember watching the Dermatologist tell me to look away as he had only given me a local anaesthetic and some pain killer.. I still looked and he was deadly afraid I would pass out from the blood.. Mine was a jelly looking type of blob that was surprisingly big when it came out of the spot it was in..
I hope for you that this is over and that they got it all.
A few months ago I had a cyst removed from just below the ear, near the jawline sort of. It was a simple procedure at the dermatologist, I was awake and everything. Of course, now I have a scar, but it's really visible. I was freaking out that it might be cancer lol, cysts were completely new to me.
