So remember that self-portrait I posted a little while ago, well I am making it into a three part portrait. With three different portaits put together into one. The first one I drew is going to be on the left, I just finished the middle, and now I have to work on the right one. This is what I have so far!

The new middle piece:

Well you do yourself a disservice calling it a self portrait as you did originally. Bri, you are a cute girl I hope you don't see you this way.

It reminds me off a cross between some holocaust painting and that creepy bit in the sex scene in Titanic where Rose runs her hand down the steamed up window in the car. Good stuff nonetheless. :thumbup

It is an interesting piece(s). I like how it symbolizes something for you instead a representation of yourself. The black and white (and the use of shading) really works well for what you are drawing. I also love the texture of the hair - I know a lot of people who couldn't pull that off. Good job.

It's just my humble opinion, but I like the fingers there - then it's not just a floating head, ya' know. But it looks great, either way.

Thank you for noticing the hair, no on seems to realize how impossible hair is to draw with charcoal :willy_nilly: I spent like 6 hours on the hair alone--for each piece.

By the way, together this is about 28 X 35 inch in size.

The real challenge will be finding a frame and matting... I hope i don't have to get it custom made... maybe my art teacher will do it for me--oh wait he hates me. lol nvm

You're welcome. The time and hard work shows. Most of the time, when people use charcoal or even pastels, the hair looks flat. There is no dimension, no texture. I really enjoyed your art.

lol I actually love the middle one, but I've gotten a lot of negative feedback on it... and I know from experience that people don't like things that make them feel bad, no matter how well done they are.
