What are your first impressions when you hear "anarchist" or "anarchism"? masked thugs claiming to be lawless? Communists? The destroyers of law and order? Well, if you think that, you might want to match these videos....they explain that anarchism is far from any of the aforementioned qualities. Personally, I think an anarcho society would greatly benefit mankind as a whole....but I would like you to watch these videos and explain to me your thoughts. Thank you. :)

Cant watch those videos right now because it would wake the missus up. While I am very anti autheritarian, I hate anyone telling me what to do, I do think we need some sort of boundaries. I'm of the opinion that if what you do dosent hurt someone its ok but there are many ways of hurting people and everyone including stupid people being given a free for all is one of them then thats not good at all!

I don't have time to start this series, but my first observation would be this:

If this type of society would be more productive, or more powerful than actual society, then actual society would have long ceased to exist.

Anarchism isn't about everyone "free for all" though.

No matter what you call it, the common understanding of the term does in fact mean "free for all."

Understood meaning is all that matters in discussion 99% of the time.

No it doesn't. It simply means that people do not wish for there to be a hierarchy of power. Thats far from a free for all.

Understood meaning? Most people have a false impression of what anarchism truly is to start off with.

You don't have to be punchy. Powerful military wise, economically, sociallly...?
All of the above.

Which is exactly what I'm saying. If everybody thought the color blue was actually called red, you would never in a million years be able to make your point about blueness. Communication is not about being technically correct; it is about moving an idea across to the intended recipient.

It's kind of like the flag burning thing we were talking about last month.

I think what we have now is fine, but more more socialistic programs and various other changes that would take hours to list here.

I never said that anarchism should take over, I just think it would be good for people to practice it in small groups around the world. But, thats not to say anarchism can't exist on the large scale, it has in many instances for over 100 years.

Well when people actually educate themselves on the matter then they will see the blueness. :D

But really, If I had a preconceived notion about something, and someone who knew what they were talking about revealed to me that its much more than I thought it was, I would understand.
