Okay, apparently, J.K. Rowling (The Author of the Harry Potter series, if you've been living under a rock your whole life) announced some time last week that Professor Dumbledore in the book was supposed to be gay.

Now I'm not sure if he was just helping Harry Potter or if he just wanted to get some wand-on-wand action.:unsure:

And yeah, I read about that last week I think. It never came across to me when I read the books though. I guess I didn't pick up on whatever subtle hints she may have thrown in there. It won't change my opinion of the series though.

Its just a publicity stunt, its not like there's anything in the books that alludes to him having a boyfriend or being that way inclined. At the end of the day, if he is who cares? The sort of people who would bash a kids book for having gay people in it would have already bashed it because its demonic because of the magic in it anyway.

Its ok but more of a kiddies book, LOTRs and Discworld books are much better fantasies. I'm all for it though if it's encoraging kids to read more which it seems to be doing.

yeah. all i have to say about this is its really sad that shes would go out and say something like that. just looking for another reason to be front page news.

and what made me laugh is in the paper it said "harry potters fans are shocked"

firstly, whoopee fuckin doo, theres is no hints that hes gay in the book so this is obviously something she just thought up.

secondly, HES AS A FICTIONAL CHRACTER! so why the hell would anybody even really give a shit. this really pissed me off. fuckin attention whore.

i lost alot of respect for the author not cuz theres a fruity pants magician or that dombledore was my favorite character or anything, but its just really really dumb to me that she would say that.

just makes me livid.
