Has Labour got any chance of being re-elected? I suspect Cameron is set to take back control of government for the Conservatives

the circle is complete, does not seem that long a go that Mr Blair's "New Labour" was the greatest thing and the era of Thatcher and Major and their conservative polices were dead and buried

i suppose times do chnage - what is of more interest to me is the performance of the BNP, is there any chance they can win a seat?

Its the Conservatives election to lose.....but they've been in this position and lost it before.

If they don't mark themselves out to be a significant change to the existing Labour government then people will keep Labour simply because they won't want change for changes sake

i get the impression the UK electorate by and large are well read and take the time to study policies and platforms so i think for the most part they make informed choices - but i hope that there is not a backlash against Blairs Iraq policies (even thought Brown was in cabinet at the time) - the economy today and job creation have (in my humble opinion) got to be the main focus when deciding who to vote for

btw is ther a third credible choice, i vaguely remember some "rogue" labour MPs years ago breaking away and forming a pact with the liberal party (SDLP?) are they still around and if so , do people like them

These TV debates may be important.

RE above: The Lib Dems are a fairly prominent 3rd choice party, but it is very unlikely they will get to power. They have Vince Cable who is very popular, but he aint the leader of their party, some nobody is.

Yeah Nick Clegg. On the Lib Dems, they will never get in because it seems to me they are afraid of changing too much, which is probably what we need. Also they strike me as uncharismatic people. The BNP won't get in either, because while they'll certainly win votes, they won't win enough because their manifesto is very limited.

I don't care about the rest of you, I'm voting Monster Raving Loony Party.

Think the Conservatives will win but it could be a hung parliament. Labour could be surprise winners also though. It kind of reminds me of last time we had a weak, unelected Prime Minister. Labour pulled out all the stops in their campaign while Major traveled around giving speeches from a wooden crate and who can forget Kinnock crashing and burning with his "we're alright!" speech?
BNP won't get an MP though it is worrying how easily some people have been deceived by them just because the're not called the National Front any more and swapped their skinheads, braces and big boots for cheap suits and slick hair. If any of them knock at my door, there's a good chance I will kick them down two flights of stairs to the bottom.
I'll be voting Conservative though I'm not getting my hopes up too much about them. It's just that we've had 13 years of Labour and we know the're fuck ups. Conservatives might well be too but it's time to give someone else a chance. Besides that, locally, I really like our Conservative candidate while our Labour MP does fuck all for the town and seems more interested in his cushy defense job, kissing Browns arse and hobnobbing with big wigs. Oh, and he still believes in the WMDs crap.
