Update:

Found out what it was all about.

He wants to help me financially with something, and I'm too stubborn to let him. So, he felt the need to be all dramatic hoping I'd listen to him. I'm not.

i know it's difficult to turn away money when you really need it. i was there a month ago, then out of the blue i got a bonus paycheck from work for working overtime

If I was hungry, or without shelter, I would accept help. However, I'm not going to accept money from somebody for something I am capable of living without. That's what he doesn't seem to understand. He thinks I'm being stubborn. I'm not, though. I just think that earning and saving and working for something myself is one of the things that makes it so sweet when I finally do get to buy something I really want.
