<sarcasm> I had a magazine sent to me from a business 75 miles from my door. It arrived yesterday August 3rd. It was postmarked and mailed on July 9th. 25 days to travel 75 miles. :clap

Not sure but Magazines are third class depending on the sender which means it will take the scenic route through Ohio before arriving at your home.

Keep in mind there are less POs to handle mail these days.The magazine may had to go where the POs are still functioning.
Also keep in mind there are POs that ship and receive only...not sort or process.

I guess we have to deal with it.
My problem is when the PO discontinues Saturday services...what ya going to do ?

I am okay with discontinuing Saturday service. To me it makes no sense to take over 3 weeks to travel 75 miles.

I think the USPS should go to 3-days a week delivery everywhere - but alternate. So each address would either be on a M-W-F delivery OR a T-Th-S schedule.

Hell all I ever get is advertising flyers anyway. I could wait one extra day before emptying my mailbox directly into the trash can.

I love how the local Post Office workers of mine shove and squash lots of my mail in my P.O. Box to fit in all in.

only problem with cutting the days they deliver is many businesses get paid by check via snail mail.

What should be done is to privatize and let Fed Ex or UPS pick up the service

I also think the cost should be based in part on where a letter is going to. It should not cost the same to mail a letter 20 miles as it would to send a letter from NYC to LA. If one wants to live in the boonies then that is part of the price to pay.

The magazine was re-sent at my request before the long overdue copy arrived. The second was sent out yesterday and arrived today.

given the volume of mail I don't think they do that bad a job

Percentage wise I probably have had more screw ups by items shipped by truck over the years
