TV shows and being uncool

I have never been interested in so many shows which others are glued to.
I never watched "The Simpson's" or "Family Guy" or "South Park"
I never got into "Lost" or "ER"
I don't watch "30 Rock"
I have never followed "Suvivor" or "Big Brother"

A lot of times references will be made to any of these shows and it is lost on me.

i'm getting up to 30 soon and I don't follow any of those show either.
I tried watching lost and got confused
i tried watching the (newer) simpsons and it's just slapstick now
ER just got out of hand... oooh it's a hospital
family guy was just stupid after the third season
never even heard of 30 rock
survivor and big brother (all of them) were just dumb as fuck

Unless you like a show with good marksmanship, or the occasional death of a bad guy.

Showa from the 80s are so cheesy. I remember them as being fantastic, but when I catch a repeat....they've nearly all aged horrendously and after 10 minutes I'm looking to change the channel. One thing they do have, for me, is that the theme tunes of those shows were memorable and producers don't seem to look too much for the 'epic' intro tune anymore.

But shows now are in my opinion hugely better plotted and scripted than they were then.

I will watch Family Guy if there is nothing else on, but that is about it out of those shows.

Well, I used to watch Simpsons, watch ******Bob on occasion, I don't care for Family Guy, I really don't like South Park, I do love Lost, like Heros, don't care about ER or 30 Rock, hate Survivor as I hate most reality shows, so would avoid BB for same reason. However I really like Dexter, and loved Sopranos, Rome and Deadwood. Big Love is watchable but not loved. I think it's more about personal prefs vs cool/uncool.

Now can anyone tell me why this forum is blanking out the word "s p o n g e"? Did I miss when it became obscene?

And 30 Rock is the funniest sitcom on TV right now. If you haven't watched, I would highly recommend it.

Mission Inpossible, I loved as a tv show. First movie was outstanding and then Tom Cruise decided to ruin all of the sequels besides showing the world he is a little out of balance.
