2007 Writers Guild of America strike

Reason: get more money

Your attitude to what they are doing?!

I see the only positive point
:)Some out there have an opportunity to get to know more about shows, because now you have more time to watch the entire series of those shows you never watched before for some reason or other.

I personally think they have a legitimate beef. They write often for pennies on the dollar what some whiner who get's paid millions to thave his/her ass kissed to act out on screen. Seldom do you see much recognition on behalf of the writer, and normally it is the written portion of the show that directors/producers are most critical of.

I guess they figure hell if you won't show your appreciation for my art in any other way...Pay up bitches.

While I agree wholeheartedly with this, they are affecting the "little" people involved in the business. The entire staff of The Tonight Show was releases recently. How do they feed their families now? They were given an offer recently that they didn't even bother to consider. People fail to realize that this is "free" tv. If you start to agree with the writers, we could end up losing "free" tv because they won't have enough money to pay everyone. Have to see it from both sides :)

I couldn't give two shits about those pricks. Hollywood needs to be completely reorganized. I agree that people should get paid for services rendered, but you're talking about a small group of people who on average make 100's of thousands of dollars a year as it is. The only people I feel sorry for is the support crews...the set builders, the lighting guys...guys that get paid squat, but are still trying to make a living at it.

It's free to you and I, that's because of the milions of dollars paid to the network for advertising. Remember those things you have to watch every three seconds...Commercials?:p:24:

Writers have the right to be compensated, they are the foundation to every show, that's my point.

What I don't get is how the Late Night guys can't write their own fucking shows. All they do is tell a few jokes and interview someone. I could do that shit.

It may well be so that new writers' stuff can change plots of my fave TV shows and I'll probably give watching them up :(
