Night before last, I tried to microwave some eyebrow wax. Same as I have several times. It wouldn't heat for several one-minute cycles. When I finally got it to start warming up, the microwave died.

I made coffee yesterday. Everything went just fine. I go to pour my third cup, and it was completely off. No clock or anything. So I unplugged, replugged, all is good. I go to make coffee this morning. Clock works, water is in, grounds are in. Flip the switch. Light goes on. Things are looking pretty good. Nope. Nothing.

Turns out, the burning plastic smell yesterday wasn't the microwave. I'm pretty sure it was the coffee pot. Add to all that today was *supposed* to be my day off and I picked up an extra shift (no days off until Christmas now and I have too much to do to have accepted this shift)... Now I have no coffee and no way to make coffee. I want to crawl back in bed.

You should keep a back-up of instant coffee in a cupboard somewhere :ninja for desperate times!

Instant, indeed. I am tempted to wrap up a filter full of coffee and steep it but I'm just not sure....
