I'm fully in favor of a school dress code, as long as they don't require expensive designer school outfits. and yes, some schools do that, making it hard on low income families.

But there is nothing wrong with setting certain requirements for school dress.

I wonder if that boy in the video got suspended for all those weapons he brought to show and tell? :D

lmao this won't stop anything.
Sometimes your posts absolutely astonish me. They truly do. The fact that you laugh about this states volumes imo or maybe I am just a bit sensitive to the issue since I have children that I have to send to these schools and I pray that I get them back alive.

As far as your comment regarding that this won't stop anything, you are wrong. It may not stop it from happening, but it does help. It is a deterrence.

We haven't had one gun incident in my child's school and they use this guideline there.

1.) I agree that there should be a school dress code.

2.) I wish I could bust out that many weapons at one, that is seriously so cool!

We have school uniforms in just about every school over here which I disagree with as they unnecessarily stifle freedom of expression. Then again we don't really have to worry too much (though it's getting worse) about violence caused because kids bring guns to school or dress in gang colours.
Was wondering how this dress code will work better than metal detectors though? I thought kids had to pass through metal detectors to get into school in America?

I didn't mean any offence.

If a kid is determined to shoot his school up, he will. Making a rule where you have to tuck your shirt in won't stop him from doing that. Look at the past major school shootings, they all came to school ready to go, not during school where they were in unifrom. A uniform is not a deterrance for a committed individual to cause harm.

There are no metal detectors in my child's school or any school he as been in.

Those are mostly for schools that have known problems or inner city schools that are known to be in areas with high gang activity.

There are plenty of kids that have been caught with guns in school that have been stopped as well. Not every person that is determined to commit a crime gets away with it.

Ah, got you Grace!;) AEF does make a good point, any kind of gun can kill someone though I'm guessing they wouldn't be able to shoot up a school quite as effectively with a small gun as with the arsenal the kid in that video is packing!

So what then? Do nothing?

Might as well just say let everybody do whatever they want and don't try to put any safeguards/deterrents in place.

No he is saying DO SOMETHING! Fuck a dress code. Install metal detectors. Beef up security. Do something that will actually prevent the crime.

I say--------->All of the above (including the dress code). They each have their merit.

Anything that would help alleviate or prevent the problem. This thing has gotten way out of hand. Let students more focus on studies (while at school) and less on designer clothes, the latest fashions and guns etc.

When they're out of the school compound they can do whatever the hell they want.

I'm sorry but that was kinda overboard on showing how many weapons can be used. I also don't really take this thing seriously, Idk guys I just think that this implement of fear in America leads to a lot of things I wish we didn't have to worry about...

Sorry for jumping on you Sillous. Your previous remark just threw me for a loop there and this is a very serious issue with what's going down in schools now.

My apologies if I came across a bit abrupt.
