I read yesterday that Michael Bay has signed up to make Transformers 4! - In my opinion the first one was amazing, but the second and third were just awful. The only reason I went to the cinema to watch them was simply for the special effects. The acting and story-lines have been awful.

What do you guys think of the Transformers franchise so far?

Liked them all, first one more so but didn't consider 2/3 to be awful.

On a scale of 1-10 - I'd rate the first a solid 10, number 2 a 7 and number 3 an 8.

I really enjoyed the first one ( rated 10 ), and the second one, Not so much ( 7), and the Dark of the Moon, I really enjoyed watching, ( 9.5!) So I am very excited and looking forward to the 4th one.
My question is, how is Megatron alive? He's been killed in all 3 movies right? meh....ijs

To be fair I think I'm quite biased because I dont really like Michael Bay! He's very one dimensional with his movies, with him it's all about how much he can blow up and smash things up :p

I think it was the most recent one I saw not long ago, because it had some model instead of Megan Fox in it - it was fucking horrible. The only part I enjoyed was when Bumblebee and Shia Le Beouf are in a car chase and he chucks Shia through the air to avoid a collision, and then catches him in car form and Shia just freaks the fuck out. That part was awesome.

Also, I read an article about how the most popular colours for action films are blue and orange, because that's an attractive colour pairing. Now try and watch the third film, and tell me you don't spend the entire movie noticing how orange Shia Le Beouf is, and how blue absolutely everything else is.

It was the acting in the last movie which killed it for me, the action scenes were really good! But your right with the orange thing, it's Michael Bay for you! If you watch any Michael Bay movie you'll notice it's always sunset throughout the whole movie.

I thought the first was great and and the 2nd was ok and the third was polished fecal matter. The acting and dialogue continue to get worse through the progression of the films. To me it's kinda like Star Wars. I'd love to see more but please replace the people currently ruining it.

And insider told me that Movie 1 was heavily financed by GM but when the recession hit and movie 2 was being filmed GM was having financial problems and going to the Government for financing. When the subcommittee heard about this, they told no money if it was not for their core business. That's when the delay happened and Hasbro Toys stepped in and fronted money but not as much. Hasbro also kicked in for movie 3 and I would expect movie 4.

GM was funding the first movie to make sure all vehicles used were GM products, and so they were.. Since the first movie was cut in that mold, they had to continue with the same characters ( vehicles ) and could only depend on someone who could make money from this to sponsor the movie with vested interest and that was Hasbro Toys.

Money talks in Hollywood and when the main source vanished it was left to the sub companies to fund the next generation of movies and that doesn't attract the best in production and staff.. Hence what you see..
