Cultural traditions often clash with modern beliefs about freedom and individuality. Have you ever questioned a tradition you grew up with? Did you keep it, modify it, or let it go completely?

There are so many traditional beliefs in my culture that I have completely thrashed. One of such is the superiority of a male child to a female regardless of whether the male brings more value or not. When I have kids, every child would be treated equally and all my properties would be divided equally amongst all my children without any preference to the males.

I believe tradition and modern thought process should have their own place in the society. Our traditions define who we and modern thinking shows us how we should be living our life.

Well, I’ve questioned a few traditions I grew up with, especially those that felt restrictive rather than meaningful. Some I’ve kept because they hold cultural or emotional value, while others I’ve let go of or adapted to fit my own beliefs and lifestyle. It’s about finding balance between respect for heritage and personal freedom.
