OK this is exactly what you think it is..

So my son asked Santa for ekkkkkkkkkkkkkk....

LEGO.. Man that stuff is expensive.. I got off lucky but some of the LEGO packages well into the high hundreds..

Along with LEGO he asked for DS Games.. He will get the usual clothes as well, from Santa.. :D

What was on your kids Santa list ?

She's 3 and not getting a single thing on that list becuase I've already got her presents. She's also convinced she's getting presents on my birthday ("not a big present mummy but a small present. And an Igglepiggle birthday cake with 4 candles")

My 3 year old cousin wants the entire contents of the Argos toys department.

I bought her this handy Manny toy thing (it's this cartoon builder person - kinda like bob the builder) and a new coat.

My god daughter is 18 months old so is too young to ask for presents yet but I got her a toy guitar. Like most kids though, she'll probably have more fun playing with the box and packaging it comes in.

Just curious, was she in the toy aisle when she wrote the list? :24:

did you know that at Toys R Us, kids can make a wishlist!? they're given a scanner gun to scan what they want and the data is saved in a registry. you know, like a bridal or baby shower registry, except its called a wishlist. all i had to say about that was I.DONT.THINIK.SO!!

There's a supermarket here in the northeast called Stop and Shop, which allows you to shop by scanning your items as you go and then just pay when you're all finished. Something tells me that self control is greatly reduced with this system.

thats not really the same thing. this saves the data for people to go and look and see what the kids want. like i said, a baby or wedding registry but its for birthdays or christmas. this is KIDS we're talking about....what kid has self control in freakin Toys R Us (or any toy store/department)!?!? :p

Definately! She knows all the doctors. I was a Doctor Who fan as a kid as well. Went to a Doctor Who convention when I was 10!

She was sat watching adverts and looking in the argos book. But the rocking horse and dolls house she saw in a toy shop and remembered it.

It's really funny how kids this age or younger especially love playing with boxes and wrapping paper over the toy actually given. I guess they're amused at the rattling sound of paper and boxes haha4.gif

I do understand where you're coming from and i never even imagined myself doing it ( giving my son a cell phone when he was 8 y/o) I had no choice though as it was for his safety he needed to have one. He was only allowed to have it though when he was away from me or like when he's in school. I nearly lost him to the Child Protective Services, nearly sent for foster care when the person who was supposed to pick him up from a bus stop after school didn't do so for several times while i was away at work. It was reported to the authorities. Hence my action and am guilty but didn't have a choice :(

Yup...

My brother got his son ( 7 years old ) a laptop for Christmas this year.. Beside the DS Lite, DS GameBoy and all the other stuff the kid has in his room I have no idea what this kid will do with the laptop but I can only imagine. I am not sure what they are trying to buy for this kid but all the money / toys in the world is not giving him the attention and love that he needs..

I might have started this thread with the shock of the cost of LEGO but my son at 6 loves to play with most of his TOY TOYS.. :D

And I show him how to take care of them and every so often we sort thru them and go give some to find a new home.. We used to go hand some over to daycares but that all changed after Toy Story 3.. :(
